This name dates back to the time when horses occupied this field. Not entirely dissimilar to the Large Prairie, this field is mown in an irregular fashion so as to encourage a wide range of vegetation, including Viper's Bugloss (a favourite with the bees!). Alongside the road are newly planted trees designed to take over from the now too tall pines, as a means of screening off the estate from the D67 and its light traffic.
